If you drive through Michigan and cross the border at Sault Ste. Marie, take Highway 17 along Lake Superior to White River where Highway 631 goes north to Hornepayne. The train ride from Hornepayne to camp is six hours.
Driving through Minnesota you can cross the border at Pigeon River, then proceed north from Thunder Bay on Highway 527 to Armstrong.
Train-in: The train ride (Via Rail) from Armstrong to camp is about one hour. If you'd prefer to fly, cross the border at Pigeon River and take Highway 17 and Highway 599 north to Savant Lake.
Fly-in: You can fly with West Caribou Air Service. From Pigeon River you can also take Highway 17 and Highway 72 north to Sioux Lookout to take the train. Crossing the border at International Falls you can take Highway 502 to Dryden and Highway 72 to Sioux Lookout. The train ride from Sioux Lookout is one hour. You can take the train all the way from your home town if you wish. Check with your local Amtrak agent about all train schedules from the USA.
If you miss the train at Sioux Lookout, proceed on Highway 516 to Savant Lake where you can fly in to the camp with West Caribou Air Service. You can fly your own plane to the airport at Sioux Lookout. West Caribou Air can pick you up there and fly you to our Lodge. Contact West Caribou Air Service at the link above.
