Our fisheryis unusually productive. Rivers flow into Heathcote Lake delivering a never ending supply of food to all levels of the food chain. Walleye and Northern Pike simply grow larger and faster than they do in most fisheries.

Heathcote Lake, which is seventeen miles long and only one half mile wide, offers thousands of bays and islands and hundreds of miles of shoreline. The waters offer spawning fish unusual amounts of gravel and rubble bottoms for an abundance of spawning grounds.  The tea stained water color provides a natural cover for growing fingerlings.

Flindt Landing Camp is the only camp for more than seventeen miles in one direction and ten miles in the other. No other camps or lodges compete for fish in this fishery. You are guaranteed to be alone on the lake 99% of the time.  The camp is also very small with less than six cabins. Fishing pressure on our waters is low due to the small size of our lodge.

The region is pristine and unspoiled. In fact, the area surrounding the camp was designated Wabakimi Provincial Park, protecting the lakes, rivers, streams, bogs, flora and fauna, for ever. Wabakimi Park is the largest wilderness park in Ontario. Access is only by canoe or kayak or train!

 Flindt Landing is a scheduled stop for ticketed fishermen. The train literally stops at our back door. The other travel alternative is to fly-in with West Caribou Air. A group of fishermen can save hundreds to thousands of dollars by choosing the train. The train-in option at Flindt Landing Camp provides you with Fly-In fishing at Train-In prices.
